BB Brownies
30 minServes 9
Black bean brownies that are genuinely fudgy, deeply chocolatey, and completely plant-based. The black beans replace flour and eggs entirely, the oat flour keeps them tender, and the chocolate chips on top melt into little pools of joy. Nobody will guess the secret ingredient.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups black beans (cooked or canned)
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (reserve some for topping)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8x8 pan.
- 2Pulse and blend all ingredients except the chocolate chips in a food processor until well combined.
- 3Stir in most of the chocolate chips, reserving some for the top.
- 4Spread into the prepared pan and top with the reserved chocolate chips.
- 5Bake for 16–18 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Jennifer's tip
Don't overbake - pull them at 16 minutes if you want fudgy brownies. They firm up as they cool, so they'll look underdone when you take them out. That's perfect.
