Avocado, kale, lime, ginger, frozen strawberries, and a whisper of spirulina - this smoothie is green, creamy, and surprisingly tropical. Topped with granola, it becomes a full breakfast. The name says it all: it's a colada that's good for you.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large avocado
  • 1 small lime, peeled
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2 cups chopped kale
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (or 1 1/2 cups for a sweeter version)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp spirulina (optional)
  • Granola for topping

Instructions

  1. 1Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. 2Blend until smooth.
  3. 3Pour into glasses and top with granola if desired.

Jennifer's tip

Add 1 1/2 cups of strawberries instead of 1 for a noticeably sweeter, more tropical flavor - great if you're new to green smoothies.
